Hiking Australia Poetry

Yet only at a distance do we observe clearly
An outline of our lives
Be it in time, across destinations, or within ourselves.

But while hindsight may seem clear, and foresight tempting
Sensation holds us each in our present moment
Still, we pull away from what seems fleeting
In search of things more timeless

Ageing trees

An expansive lake

The earth

Our universe?

Yet only at a distance do we begin to forget
How easy it is to miss the beauty right in front of us
